Regatta day is just a week away – but there’s still time to enter!

The Oceanbridge Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta is just a week from today, but there’s still time to get your entry in and be part of history in the making.

Celebrating 184 years this year, this regatta represents your chance go down in sailing history. Winners’ names from each division are forever engraved on one of the over 60 trophies that are on permanent display at the Maritime Museum, several of which date back to the 1800s. How many other non-professional events give you an opportunity like that?

And of course, aside from being a great day out on the water, you’ll also have the chance to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes thanks to our generous sponsors. There’s a Hawaiian holiday up for grabs, $3,000 worth of Harken Fosters vouchers, a paddleboard and kit from Burnsco, plus so much more!

Let’s fill up these divisions!

More competition makes for a better regatta all round – for participants and spectators alike. So if you are keen to participate, there are plenty events to get involved with. Divisions looking for more entries are:

The Tugboat Race and Display

This event is the undisputed crowd pleaser of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta – after all, it’s not often you get to see tugboats race!

Classic and modern Tugboats race from Westhaven to Orakei and back. We have eight entries at the moment and it would be great to see a few more to ensure this flagship event delivers an awesome spectacle for the crowds of spectators who come to watch.

The Classic Launches

After a hiatus of nearly 100 years, power craft racing returned to the Auckland Anniversary Regatta just a few years ago. This is your chance to show Auckland what your launch is made of!

We have seven entries so far, but it’s always great to see more competition, so bring your classic powerboat out for the race and show her off to a sea of onlookers around Auckland’s waterfront.

Modern Keelboats

We love seeing big fleets on the start line and exciting competition, so we could really do with some more modern keeler  entries.

The harbour course finishes at Orakei, so it’s convenient wherever in the city you’re berthed. There’s a prize pool totalling over $15,000 to be won and the entry fee is only $40!

Keelboat Passage Races

Returning from Mahurangi Regatta, Bay of Islands Sailing Week or a cruise in the Hauraki Gulf on Anniversary Day?

Join a Passage Race starting from Mahurangi or Rakino, and finishing at Resolution Buoy off Orakei.  You could be in to win over $15k worth of spot prizes!

Smile and Win Mount Gay Rum!

We’ve once again got a bottle of Mount Gay Rum to give away to the boat with the biggest smiles for the camera! Look out for our official event photographer from Live Sail Die on the water, and get your whole crew to smile for the camera. Biggest smiles win the Mount Gay at Prizegiving!
