Watch the racing with the best views in town at the Lighthouse Cafe at RNZYS
The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron’s new Lighthouse Cafe at Westhaven will be open on Auckland Anniversary Day, and provides one of the best vantage points in the city to watch the Oceanbridge Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta.
Lighthouse Cafe will be open from 7am – 4pm on Monday 29 January. With the tugboat race and display taking place off Westhaven from 10am, along with the classic launch race and keelboat races starting at 11am, there is no better place to watch all the action on Anniversary Day!
Follow Lighthouse Cafe on Facebook or Instagram for menu updates and specials.
Getting there…
RNZYS is located on Westhaven Drive, which you can access from Beaumont Street if you’re coming from the CBD, or from the Shelly Beach Road exit via Curran Street coming from the north.
Taking your own boat out to watch the action?
We want everyone to stay safe on the water during the Oceanbridge Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta, whether you’re racing, watching the action from your own boat, or simply passing through the area. To help keep everyone safe, we do ask that you familiarise yourself with the race areas in the Sailing Instructions and stay well clear of racing vessels.
Please note the following navigational restrictions which must be adhered to while the tugboat race and display are underway.
