5 good reasons to enter now!

Entries are now open for the 185th Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta on Monday 27 January 2025, and the entry list already is already showing a few regulars hot off the blocks.

This edition is even more special because the regatta will be the opening event of the Moana Auckland festival – a six-week celebration featuring events, live music, food and drink, and everything that connects us to the water in the City of Sails.

So if you’re around on Anniversary Weekend and keen to get out on the water, here’s our top five reasons why you should get your entry in for the Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta now.

1. Show off the City of Sails

Help kick off the Moana Auckland festival with a huge spectacle of sailing and seafaring for the crowds of spectators who will be lining the shores to watch.

2. History in the making

Make history as the winner in your division – champions’ names are engraved on the regatta’s historic trophy collection, on permanent display at the Maritime Museum.

3. For the fun of it

Enjoy a great day out on the Waitemata Harbour with a range of courses and divisions to suit just about every-boatie, whether sail, steam or paddle powered.

4. Easy from east or west

With all Harbour and Passage yacht races finishing at Resolution Buoy off Orakei, it’s easy to return to marinas to the east or west of the city after racing.

5. Over $10k worth of prizes

There’s a huge prize pool to be won including cash for podium positions, a Hawaiian Holiday, and a $1,000 spot prize when you enter by 31 December*.
