Two weeks to go – will you go down in nautical history?
We hope you had a fantastic festive season and an enjoyable break. There are now just two weeks to go until the Oceanbridge Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta kicks off. But there’s still time to put your hat in the ring and be in with a chance to go down in history.
At 184 years old, this is the oldest sporting event in New Zealand, older even than the America’s Cup. By entering now, you’ll be part of history in the making. Imagine having your name engraved on one of the regatta’s 60+ trophies, many of which are solid silver just like the America’s Cup, and all of which are on permanent display in the New Zealand Maritime Museum. You could secure a place in the maritime history of our nation, alongside other great seafaring names like Sir Peter Blake.
And of course you’ll also have the chance to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes thanks to our generous sponsors. There’s a Hawaiian holiday up for grabs, $3,000 worth of Harken Fosters vouchers, a paddleboard and kit from Burnsco, plus so much more!

Did you know…
The regatta’s trophy collection is kindly valued by Ellerslie Jewellers each year, and the entire collection is worth close to $100,000? Some of these trophies date back to the early days of the regatta which began in 1840, and many of them are made of solid silver. You can see them all on permanent display at the Maritime Museum.
