This iconic event needs your support to continue

With one week to go until the Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta on Monday 26 January, we’re asking our sailing community for one simple thing: come and be part of it.

For 186 years, this regatta has belonged to the maritime community of Auckland – especially the keelboat fleets that the City of Sails built its reputation on. Now we really need your support to help keep this much-loved tradition going into the future.

Keelboat Harbour Race improvements

The Harbour Race is an approximately 12nm course that fits easily into the day, and this year we’ve made a few changes to make it easier and more appealing for keelboat crews to take part.

  • New two-division format – up to 9.5m and over 9.5m – for bigger fleets and more competitive racing.
  • Later start time: 1300hrs, giving crews plenty of time to get to the start line.
  • Resolution Buoy start – easier for boats coming from the eastern side of the city
  • Westhaven finish – putting everyone in prime position for the after party at RNZYS, and an easy return home for boats berthed out west
  • Westhaven-based boats can simply park up and stroll straight to the bar.

We’d love to see as many boats as possible on the start line, so please enter now!

PS. If you’re having trouble entering online, just give us a call on 0800 REGATTA (0800 734 288) or email admin@regatta.org.nz and we’ll be happy to help with your entry.
