Entering the regatta? Here’s what you could take home…

Holiday mode might be behind us, but we’ve still got something big to look forward to: Auckland Anniversary Regatta is just a few weeks away – and there’s over $15,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.

As always, there will be cash prizes for podium places across all divisions, recognising the top performers on the water. In previous years this has added up to several thousand dollars, and we’re looking forward to rewarding strong results again in 2026.

But it’s not just the frontrunners who can take something home. By simply taking part in the regatta, you can put yourself in the running for an incredible range of spot prizes and major draws – from gear and experiences through to a dream holiday in Hawaii.

The regatta’s long-held tradition of offering cash prizes for the winners in each race continues today, with thousands to be won.

One lucky keelboat, launch or tugboat skipper will win a 3-night holiday for two in Hawaii thanks to Hawaiian Airlines, valued at over $5,000.

While cash and prizes are a great bonus, there’s something truly special about winning a race at the Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta: your name becomes part of our nation’s maritime history. Winners are engraved on the regatta’s remarkable trophies – more than 60 in total, many crafted from solid silver and dating back to the 1800s.

These trophies live permanently at the New Zealand Maritime Museum, forming one of the country’s most significant collections of sporting silverware. It means that long after race day, you can wander through with the kids or grandkids, and point to your name on a piece of Auckland’s maritime legacy.
