Passage Races – The Cruisiest Way To Join The Regatta

Calling all cruising keelboats! There’s a great way for you to be part of the fun and historic occasion that is the Ports of Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta, without having to organise a full racing crew, select the bare minimum of sails, and biff out all the beans from the galley to get your boat in peak racing trim.

Why not join one of the Passage Races from around the Hauraki Gulf, finishing at Westhaven on Anniversary Day? Passage races tie in nicely with return routes from the Mahurangi Regatta, Bay of Islands Sailing Week, or your holiday cruise in the Gulf. They are especially for boats in full cruising trim, carrying or towing a dinghy or tender, so there’s no need to worry if you’ve got a bit more ballast on board than usual.

There’s a chance to win cash and plenty more great prizes, including a $1,000 cash prize if you enter by 31 December! And if you win, you’ll have your name forever engraved on our historic trophy collection. With entries costing just $35 per boat, why wouldn’t you?
