Just two weeks until Regatta Day

The 185th Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta is now just two weeks away, and the entry list is filling up! You can check out the competition in the keelboat, tugboat and launch divisions on the entry list here, and remember there’s still time to get your entry in and put yourself in the running for over $15,000 worth of prizes!

Let’s fill up these divisions!

More competition makes for a better regatta all round – for regatta entrants and spectators alike. So with that in mind, we’d really appreciate your support getting more entries in these divisions…

Tugboats

The Tugboat Race and Display are the undisputed crowd pleaser of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta – after all, it’s not often you get to see tugboats race!

We’d love to see a huge fleet for this spectacular race, so we need more tugs to join in to ensure this flagship event offers an awesome display for the crowds of people who line the shores to watch.

Keelboats – classic and modern

We would love to see big fleets in the keelboat divisions, making for exciting competition and an awesome spectacle on the water for the thousands of people who will be watching from the shore.

The Keelboat Harbour Race is a course of approximately 15nm, starting at Westhaven and finishing at Resolution Buoy, Orakei, so it’s convenient for those berthed in anywhere in the city, or to the east or west.

Passage Races

There are Passage Races from Mahurangi and Rakino, so if you’re going to the Mahurangi Regatta or you’re planning to be on the water for Anniversary Weekend, why not sign up for the passage division for your return home?

There are open and no-extras racing options, and races finish at Resolution Buoy at Orakei which is great for those berthed to the east of the city.

Don’t forget – there’s also racing for over 25 different dinghy and foiling classes, classic launches, radio controlled yachts, dragon boats and waka ama. So whatever floats your boat, make sure you come and float yours at the Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta!
